IRSICAIXA Foundation, Spain
The IRSICAIXA Foundation is a leader institute and reference center for the research and treatment of the Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in Catalonia. The activities of the IRSICAIXA Foundation occur primarily in the Retrovirology Laboratory of the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias I Pujol (Badalona, SPAIN).

The IRSICAIXA Foundation is a non profit organization founded in 1995 and financed partly by Fundació La Caixa and the Department de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
Since 1994, the group has been investigating the clinical and virological efficacy of different therapeutic strategies based on the use of antiretroviral drug combinations. Their principal objective has been to reduce the morbidity and mortality related to HIV-1 infection throughout antiretroviral combinations able to control plasma viral replication.
